Poop happens

As any mom of a child in the 3 and under set can tell you poop is just a fact of life. You end up spending a lot of your time cleaning it up too. Tonight during bath time, Heath got that look of deep concentration on his face that means poop is on the way. Since we're on the cusp of potty training, whenever I this particular look I ask "Are you going to poop?" I'm hoping to help Heath develop some self awareness about what is going on with his body. I usually get a resounding NO! No matter what is really going on in his diaper.

So tonight with Heath in the tub and that gleam in his eye, I calmly ask the question and merely get a puzzled expression back from Heath. Hmm... Let's assess the damage here. I have Heath stand up and sure enough there was a mess that should never happen in the tub. Amazingly enough I'm very calm in the face of this latest toddler mess. I'm thankful that Grant hadn't gotten in the tub yet that would have lent an edge of hysteria to the event. And once again I found out exactly how wonderful and useful bleach wipes can be. We really need to remember to buy some stock in Clorox!

You may be wondering why I didn't get too bent out of shape over this poop incident. Well evidently Heath is my child with poop issues. A couple of months before I took the blogging challenge, Heath was into poop painting. Yep, he'd get bored during nap time and decide why nap when you can redecorate your room with your own waste products! Poop in the tub is nothing compared to poop painting.
